Taken outside Ards Arena before heading off to Wembley to watch the 4-0 defeat to England on February 7th 1979, we have most of the names but a few remain a mystery. Back home while Castlereagh Borough Council made inquiries concerning the disappearance of banner from their offices, the Belfast Telegraph run this picture of Northern Ireland fans saying their farewells to Mexico 86 after a 3-0 defeat by Brazil. Pictured bottom right are Gareth Fullerton, Andy Kelly, Simon Fullerton and Gary Kelly ( who had nothing to do with the disappearance of the flag of course).
